Krysta Mahl (she/her) joined the 麻豆原创 Residential Community and Support team as a Resident Director in the South Area in March 2026.
When beginning college, Krysta chose to stay in her hometown of Kalamazoo, MI and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College where she received an A.A. in Communication and a certificate in American Sign Language. After KVCC, Krysta transferred to Western Michigan University to earn her B.A. in Public Relations with a minor in Gender & Women's Studies where she also served as an RA during her senior year. Her experience as an RA inspired her to pursue student affairs as a career, leading her to earn her M.A. in Communication and work as a Graduate Hall Director at Eastern Michigan University.
Prior to coming to 麻豆原创, Krysta has worked in housing and residential life at Washington University in St. Louis and at Sonoma State University. In all her previous roles, she is has been an advocate for accessibility and she is passionate about making programming and the residential experience as accessible as possible.
When she isn't working, Krysta spends most of her free time with her dog Derek and cat Tigger. She also enjoys playing rugby, doing puzzles, and all things Garfield. If you see her walking around campus, you can usually expect her to be listening to a YouTube video or podcast, often about professional wrestling, reality competition shows, or horror movies.
